Starting in 2022, LA River X has expanded its reach by jumping from screens to real life with a series of exhibitions and activations that explore and celebrate the environmental, cultural, and social stories of the world's most iconic concrete river. Reach out if you'd like to host an exhibition at your venue or event.
LA River X alums and supporters gathered at River Ridge Club and Stables to celebrate all things Los Angeles River. Attendees enjoyed River-inspired live music sets from Magmatic and OneL, a pop-up museum of river objects, art, books, and mementoes, an abundant print swap, an exhibition of images from the LA River X collection, river-themed button making and more. Photos by Jen greenwood (large image) and Rooh Steif (small images).
LA River X gave CicLAvia Heart of LA participants a taste of the river's 51 miles, with a pop up exhibition on the 6th Street Bridge showing various river locations upstream and downstream. Event photos by Jon Endow for CicLAvia, Kwasi Boyd-Boulin, and Jen Greenwood (clockwise from top left).
We joined forces with our friends at Riverpark Coalition for a day of sharing river images and stories. Event photos by Gabriel Tellez.
CicLAvia attendees enjoyed river story sharing, button making, and an outdoor exhibition of images from the LA River X collection. Photos by Brian Feinzimer for CicLAvia.
You can visit the LA River X exhibition in the North Lobby of The Claremont Colleges Library anytime that the Library is open. You'll see images from the LA River X collection juxtaposed with older archival images from the Los Angeles Public Library Photo Collection.

Future exhibitions and workshops are being planned. Reach out to LA River X Founder/Curator Tilly Hinton if you'd like to host, collaborate, or support.
