LA River X is a public humanities project showcasing river stories that might otherwise be lost to history. The project invites everyday people to show what the river means to them, through photography, artwork, writing, sound, and video.
Guest hosts’ materials are published on the LA River X Instagram account, with the option to have those materials safely kept forever in the Western Water Archives, a digital archive at The Claremont Colleges Library.
This project has hosted more than 75 guest host takeovers, and preserved more than 2,000 memories, and counting. LA River X is curated by Tilly Hinton, PhD.
